What is TempBox?
TempBox is a free temporary email service. It provides a disposable email address you can use to avoid spam when signing up for services, without requiring any personal information.
Do I need an account?
No, you do not need an account to use TempBox. You simply generate a temporary address and start receiving emails immediately.
How does temporary email work?
When you click "Generate Temporary Address", TempBox instantly creates a real, functional email mailbox. Any emails sent to this address are fetched and displayed directly in your browser.
How long does a mailbox last?
Temporary mailboxes expire automatically after 2 hours to protect your privacy and free up resources. Treat your temporary mailbox as short-lived.
Can I recover an expired mailbox?
No. Once a mailbox expires or is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Do not use TempBox for accounts you need long-term access to.
Can I receive attachments?
Yes, attachments sent to your mailbox can be downloaded. However, for security reasons, TempBox does not automatically open or execute them. Only download attachments from sources you trust.
Can I send emails?
No, TempBox is a receive-only service. You cannot compose or send outgoing emails.
What happens to messages?
Messages are stored temporarily by our service until they are deleted or the mailbox expires. TempBox fetches them to display in your browser and does not retain them permanently.
Why did my mailbox disappear?
If you close your browser tab, your session is cleared and you lose access to that mailbox. Alternatively, the mailbox may have been automatically deleted after its 2-hour lifetime.
Is TempBox anonymous/private?
TempBox minimizes data collection and requires no personal information to use. Messages are stored temporarily and deleted when the mailbox expires. While we do not build any profile on you, temporary email is not a substitute for truly anonymous communication. Do not use this for sensitive or financial accounts.
What happens if TempBox is unavailable?
If our service is temporarily unavailable, you will not be able to generate new addresses or receive emails until it is restored. We aim for high reliability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
